My trip to Nepal has begun! We landed in Kathmandu on the 24th of October and then drove on a narrow road that twisted up into the mountains to our hotel. The view from my balcony is fantastic! I can see the snow capped Himalayas as well as terraced hills as far as the eye can see. Today we went for a long hike to take in more views. The group of locals in the picture below are people we met while out walking on the trails. The building in the photo below is our hotel with the mountains in the background. Yes there are a few clouds but if you look closely some of the white is actually the tops of mountains. They say that in the morning if it is very clear we can actually see Mt. Everest! .... worth getting up early for!
We will be here in Nangorkot for another night and then returning to Kathmandu for the rest of our stay in Nepal. We have all the luxuries in our hotel ... internet, TV, restaurant, bar and a great balcony to sit out on. The weather is warm and sunny during the day (much like September in Canada), but quite cool at night. We plan to take in the fresh air and pleasant weather! Stay tuned for more pics of our trip!!
Beautiful pictures. How lovely to have an October Break! We should suggest an October Break for our students and teachers. I don't think the NB government would go for that.
